Toe to Toe Project
There are 300 million children in the world for whom walking with shoes is a rarity. This makes them extremely vulnerable to infection by parasites, while injuries to the feet and ankles can lead to ulcers and other conditions which are almost always left untreated. Without shoes, many children are not permitted to attend school.
School Council would like to support the ‘Sal’s Shoes’ charity which collects shoe donations and deliver them to needy feet all over the world. On the last day of school, children taking part will come to school wearing an old pair of shoes or bring it to school in a bag if it does not fit you anymore. At the end of the day, you will take your shoes off, place them in the playground and leave school barefoot. You are welcome to donate more than one pair of shoes if you have parents or older siblings who have pairs of shoes that are not used anymore. This is a voluntary donation as we know not everyone will have shoes available for donation.
